About Monstera Deliciosa Plant: –
The Monstera plant is a perfect indoor plant for you if you’re looking to create a big, bold, humid feel in your home. Its landscapes big (2-foot-wide) leaves that look like they have holes or cuts in them, giving rise to two of its other mutual names Swiss cheese plant and split-leaf philodendron (while monstera is not a type of philodendron, it is closely related to them).
Where to Grow: –
Monstera deliciosa plants like normal indoor temperatures (68–86 °F), and desire high dampness and filtered indirect light. They can be full-grown outdoors in a sheltered location as an ascending, classic perennial. Direct sunlight can result in roasting, but if it doesn’t get enough the plant may not grow as many tears in its leaves.
While young, this indoor plant has a solid, abundant shape, but as it grows, it wants to creeper out. You can keep it bushy with steady pruning, or let it climb up upright support (such as fishing line secure into the ceiling), for a definitely bold and tropical look.
How to Care Monstera Plant: –
Plant in peaty, well-draining soil in a pot with drainage holes. Monstera deliciosa is a climber in its usual habitat, using its aerial roots to cling to great trees, so you should offer it with moss-covered support sticks or a trellis. If its aerial roots get disorderly you can trim them, but it’s best to just tuck them back into the pot.
Water when the top inch of the soil dried. Standard liquid plant compost can be applied about once a month during the spring and summer growing season. Keep leaves clean and dust-free by washing with a cloth hollow in a solution of a drop of dishwashing detergent in a few cups of water. Though it’s not compulsory, the plant also heightens regular mist over of its leaves. When Monstera deliciosa expands its current pot (about every two years), remove to a new pot a few inches larger in diameter and depth than the old one.
